Have Your Say With Credit Cards

The Federal Reserve is offering consumers a chance to have their voices heard about credit card practices. Now through August 4 consumers are able to go to the Federal Reserve’s website and voice their opinions on a set of new rules aimed at reforming the business practices of credit card companies.
As a result of the current credit crunch, the U.S government is concerned about the way Credit Card companies do business and the impact those practices have on the average American consumer.
Many politicians and consumer advocacy groups have cried foul over the way some credit card companies’ deal with fees and charging methods. More then 9,000 comments have already been submitted at the Federal Reserve’s website in regards to the new rules. Among several items are rules that will change the way credit card companies issue out late fees and would end companies from applying higher interest rates on debt that is already accumulated. This practice alone has been a bane to many consumers.
Credit card companies are claiming that the new reform will have a detrimental effect on consumers. Issuers are stating that the reform will eliminate competition and raise interest rates all across the board. What’s more the companies offering credit cards are raising concerns over the fact that some of the rules will eliminate the practice of applying higher interest rates to those consumers classified as “high risk”. Instead, issuers are saying that everyone, even those with near perfect credit, will be hit with high interest rates.
The House and Senate are expected to get involved since the Federal Reserve is limited in some areas concerning credit card reform. Several new bills have already been introduced with several more expected.
Consumers wanting to comment on the reform should go to the Federal Reserve website. This is a monumental chance to directly effect how business is run in one of the most lucrative areas of the economy.

I have a PayPal Master Card with GE Money Bank. P.O.Box 91068, El Paso, TX. 79998. In April I authorized GSM Grant Search to charge me $1.95 for forms to get a grant. I also authorized PVIGAVAUCTIONALERT to charge me $1.95 for a list of auctions in this area. I got nothing and have been charged $39.95 for the grant form. In June GE Money Bank changed to it “Easy Grant Finder” with another telephone number. I know I never heard of them and did not authorize any charges from them. .I have also been charged $24.95 a month for the auction list, which I never received. , $9.95 for Network Agenda and $7.95 for Business funding. I have never heard from these people agin and received nothing from any of them. The $9.95 and the $7.95 charges seem to be part of the Easy Grant group, according to Rip Off Reports. . Starting May 22 I requested that they cancel my card and remove these charges. They refused. After demanding that they cancel the card they finally did, in August, but carried these frauds over to the new card. They have charged me for all these false charges including the one to the new card number that was never activated. How did the defrauders get the new number? It is possible for GE Money Bank to have been carrying on this fraud alone?
Also I bought a Kitchenaid mixer that never came. They guarantee delivery so I applied for and got a refund but it has never appeared on any invoice.
All of these people seem to be high on the RIP OFF LIST, as well as does GE Money Bank and PayPal. This gives a total of $464.41 plus anything they charged me in April. I am 95 years old and trying to live on SS and a very small pension. I don’t know what can be done about this but I intend to fight it. If you can give me any help as to who to write I will appreciate it. This looks like a clear case of fraud.
I did have a Sam’s Discover Card with the same GE Money Bank. My computer crashed in Aoril and also notified them. They canceled the frauds I picked then and reissued another card. Then I fooloshly asked “Fix’ya how to fisx my camera. I got such a stupid answer I canceled and never bothered them again. Of course they kept charging me .every week for another answer but Discover never paid them. And it is the same company.
I thought a credit card was some help in defending against frauds,. These folks seem to be aiding them or carrying it on themselves. What do you think?

"One is enough. Go for a rewards Credit Card:
Reward credit cards reward you when you spend on the credit card. Normally, you can collect rewards through 3 ways.
* It involves earning cash back on the card, it depends on the amount you spend.
* Next one involves giving points to the customers. They can be redeemed for gifts like cosmetics, shoes, water heater, mobiles and other goodies which the credit card company offers.
* The last method of reward is providing airmiles. Airmiles are highly popular reward, as many customers like to redeem them for free flights or flight upgrades. Whatever type of reward credit card you opt for, carefully note the amount or rate at which rewards will accrue and also read carefully other terms and conditions."
Each country is differant. I have heard in American it averages nearly 4 cards per person in this country.. Thats counting store cards though. Now in Nigeria it would be quite different . Agree?
I don't know about how to keep score and all that stuff.
I just know that you keep paying more than your monthly minimums, and they keep wanting to give you more and more.
This is really unimaginable years ago.
Where the hell do these companies get so much money available to lend?
I't seems like a joke, and yet it's reality today.
And all they want to know is that you own some property.
They value property.
Wasn't always like this. I blame these stupid ass banks for this mess of credit being sloshed around.
The biggest joke is waiting at the checkout where everyone whips out a credit card to pay for groceries.
Years ago, these people would be starving.
Where's the CASH?
Anybody work for cash anymore?
Tell me, someone…does anyone still work long hours for wages anymore?
Or, do they do magic tricks with credit cards?
I got to know!

Not that bad – but it will affect your score whether you are on time on paying. It could make your score low. So get a scissors and cut your cards in pieces – but – leave one or two that is your favorite to use. Lenders don't like that people have so many open accouts, that is why they offer loan consolidation. meaning you put all your loans into one account only and you will be rewarded.
1. No fees.
2. dont ever carry a balance- pay it off every month. THe financing charges on credit cards are the highest of any form of borrowing. credit card debt will kill you.
good luck.
As far as I know, most credit cards allow you to add an authorized user without a social security number.
You don't tell us what "bad credit" is, so I'm going to assume bankruptcy, dozens of unpaid charge-offs, three or four judgments, and hundreds of inquiries. In that case, no, there are no decent credit card companies that would issue anything to you. If your idea of bad credit is different than mine, then maybe there exists someone who would issue to you. They will give you a toy limit, charge insane fees, and assess an usurious rate of interest, but they will work with you. It would be much, much, better to get a secured card.

They will never stop sending her cards (I've tried, believe me) if they have a reason to send it to her.
The best thing for you two is to communicate calmly. Tell her she can't be doing this and, if necessary, seek therapy for her spending problem. Ask for her cooperation to cut the cards and freeze accounts. If you cut one of her cards, it still takes a week or so to get another, so it should slow it down a little. Try not to threaten with a divorce if you still want to be married to her.
Besides, even if you stop the credit cards from coming, that doesn't mean she's not capable of getting money somehow. She has a problem that needs to be taken care of before it gets worse.

Getting a bank card that will provides cash back often appears like a excellent notion. What might be much better than obtaining cash return on just about all the purchases which you make by using your credit card? It seems too excellent to be genuine, doesn’t it?
dis is bumb like if u wanted a card number so bab go get a job n put cash on it…all hes doin is making a dumb ass out of u when u do it.
It can be bad, If you are looking to buy a house, The lender could see all those cards as liability. At any time you could potently go out an max those cards out. Really what is the point of having that many cards. Two cards is plenty, pay themoff at the end of the month.
that's not the way to go to finance your business – you'll be paying average int rates of 18% or higher probably and much higher if you're late with just a couple of payments. Why don't you try and get a business line of credit instead
wow!!thwts nice

Use Business Credit Cards For Building Business Credit
I think Apple makes great products, but technology is faulty. My experience with apple and dell is that something will break in 3 years. I will most likely cost you more
I DON’T like that when I need a replacement part, they ask me for a credit card number. Dell NEVER did that. It seems to me if their product is broken, why should I give them access to my credit cards.
There was NO way around it except to take it to an apple store (which is nowhere near where i live) and have them special order the part because they don’t carry it in stock.
besides that part, I’m very glad I bought it. I always use or exceed the amount it costs in 3 years. Rating: 4 / 5
Nope. Your score will go down because your report will be showing you have less available credit. The more available credit you have, the better your score.
Now, if some of the cards are newer, as in you have had them less than 6 months, closing those accounts will not affect you as greatly as closing older accounts.
